The Shepherd of Readersburg | 27 April 2021 | Age rating: >5 years: You know ,guys, there is a concept called #breakthechain.

It became quite popular last year when Covid19 became a pandemic. A year later now, when the deadly virus has raged again, more aggressively this time as it has come closer home, we definitely must revive this trend.

So what does it mean?
'Break the chain' started as a request to each individual of this world to stay at home.

SARS-CoV-2 or the virus that causes Covid, is a contagion. It spreads from one person to another in different ways. If an infected and unmasked person coughs or sneezes or sprays while talking, the droplets this person releases hang in the air around that spot for a few minutes.

If a uninfected and unmasked person walks into that area within those few minutes, this person contracts the virus.

Now, if this person continues to roam around, and, more importantly, does that without wearing a mask, s/he will pass on the virus to other people.
If infected cover their mouths with their hands while sneezing, coughing or talking and then they touch or hold something with those hands, the droplets they ejected on to their hands while coughing, sneezing or talking will be transferred to that object.
When someone else touches or holds that same object, the virus will be transferred to their hands. If they touch their face/nose/mouth/eyes with the same hands without washing them rigorously, the virus will enter their bodies and make them sick.
Now imagine that this uninfected person did not walk into the cloud of air in which the infected droplets were hanging.
Bingo! This person would not get the virus. And so anyone coming in contact with this person will also not get the virus.

It means that this person has broken the chain.
Since schools are closed, there is hardly any reason for you guys to step out of your houses. So stay home. Because by doing so, you are not just helping yourself but also the world at large in a big way. See illustration above to understand this better.
