Want to be a good reader?

It's seriously easy! Seriously!

Did you think that people are born with a knack to read? Oh please!

Uumm well, it could be that some people are born with this supernatural talent of reading. But most people acquire it.

So how do they do it, that acquiring thing?

Well, it’s quite easy, actually. No crazy tricks involved! No magic!

All you have to do is just start reading one fine day.

Ahh!! Confused? How can you just …start when you don’t even like reading?

Okay okay, here is a step-by-step guide to how you can become a good reader:

Step 1: Pick up a good storybook

Ask someone who has a professional background in reading, writing, storytelling etc. for suggestions.

Hey, but since you are here at Readersburg, you can easily find a list of good books for your age group here. Pick one, get it and check out Step 2 below.

Step 2: Set a reading time every day

After you’ve picked a good storybook, keep aside 15 minutes every day for reading. For instance, 4pm – 4:15pm.

Step 3: Stick to the timetable

You have set aside 15 minutes for reading in your to-do. That’s perfect! Now make sure you absolutely have your storybook in front of you at 4pm every day and you read it until 4.15pm.

Step 4: Read slowly

There’s no hurry! Na uh! Read just five pages in 15 minutes. JUST FIVE PAGES every day, that’s it!

Step 5: Do it continuously for 21 days, to begin with

If you manage to do this continuously for 21 days, you will want start loving it! And before you know it, you will be a voracious reader! Yeah! That’s the way it works!

Step 6: Just do it!

Even if you feel lazy at times, just move yourself and pick up the book and start staring at the page you left it at yesterday.

Just stare at it on days when you can’t find the motivation to read. Just do that!

So? Let’s get started then? JUST FIVE PAGES a day!
