Brown Clip town was a very famous town. There lived a girl named Lisa. Her best friend was Chloe.
One day, they were walking down the hill towards the park. As they were walking Lisa saw a poster stuck on a pole. It was not at all a good-looking poster! It was put up by a political party that was contesting elections.
Lisa and Chloe kept walking. Then they saw that the posters and banners were all over the place: walls, poles, gates, statues, even on the park's slides and the clock tower too!
Chloe declared that she does not want to play in a park filled with posters. They both returned home. Lisa's dad was a politician too and he was contesting these elections. She asked her dad, 'All politicians say that they will make this town the cleanest. Then why do they put up posters and banners all across the town and make it dirty?' Her father did not know what to say first. He had no answer to this question.
Then, the next day, her father got all the posters removed and declared that posters and banners for elections will make our town dirtier not cleaner. After that, posters and banners were never seen in Brown Clip town. It became such a beautiful place.

Posters, posters everywhere!!
This story, 'Elections in Brown Clip town', authored by our young reporter, Nitya, is her own idea. No one from our adult team gave her the idea or asked her to write such a story. The idea came from what she saw around her and what she felt about it.
The story tells us in as many words that people do not like the sight of posters stuck by political parties just anywhere around the city. They are carelessly pasted anywhere including walls of people’s houses and even on walls of heritage buildings.
It destroys the structures and also the beauty of the city and makes it look untidy. Also, no one bothers to remove these posters after the elections are over. Even if you try to peel these posters off they do not come off completely or a part of the wall paint comes out along with them leaving the wall ugly.
Politicians contest elections so that they can win and hold powerful leadership positions. But people wonder that if these politicians do not care for their city when they are contesting elections, how will such politicians become good leaders if they win. It is a serious worry.
